Horticultural Apprentice

The role

We are seeking enthusiastic applicants for a formal Horticultural apprenticeship. The successful applicant will work closely with our experienced Horticulturists on a day-to-day basis who are responsible for the maintenance and first-class presentation of the College gardens and grounds.
 
Our Horticultural apprenticeship is conducted over a period of up to three years and remunerated for full-time paid employment for its duration. Apprentices’ who successfully complete all required training and work experience will receive a Certificate III in Horticulture – Parks and Gardens which is a highly transportable and credible qualification in the Horticultural sector and is delivered in partnership with TAFE NSW.

  • A proven commitment to safety in the workplace
  • A strong sense responsibility and be able to demonstrate initiative
  • An enthusiastic and positive approach to all duties
  • The ability to work in an outdoor environment where weather conditions are unfavourable at times
  • Physical fitness sufficient to undertake the responsibilities required
  • Knowledge of plants and gardening operations is advantageous
  • Possession of a Manual driving license (desirable).

 
The successful candidate must have a Working with Children Check clearance.
