Preparatory School Riverbed Depicted in Indigenous Mural
Friday 24 July, 2015
Indigenous artist Brian Robinson was welcomed back to Pymble for a week-long Artist in Residence project. Brian was commissioned through the Ex-Students’ Union’s (ESU) Artist in Residence Grant, to create a mural in the Year 2 entry area. The mural was inspired by the students’ thoughts and drawings of the Riverbed, which is a highly valued area in the Preparatory School. It provides a space where the girls can reflect on their connection to the environment and the traces they leave behind.
The mural was officially launched at a special ceremony on Friday 24 July. Students were filled with excitement and awe as they walked through the area for first the time, identifying areas of the mural which were reflective of their own encounters with the Riverbed.
