Tuesday 30 July, 2019
The 2019 Oceania Athletics Championships were held in Townsville in the last week of Term 2. Australia is one of 22 member Federations competing at the Championships, which were organised by the Oceania Athletics Association.
Pymble Ladies’ College had two representatives – Nicole Freestone (Year 12) and Imogen Gardiner (Year 11). Imogen Gardiner won the U18 1,500m in a championship record time of 4.30.44. Nicole Freestone placed third in U20 High Jump. Nicole jumped 1.71m and just missed 1.74m.
We also had two ex-students competing: Mackenzie Little came second in Open Javelin, while Kristie Edwards came first in U20 100m and 200m and achieved two championship records.
Congratulations!
