Jacaranda Day 2013
Thursday 14 November, 2013
Students and staff from the whole College came together today to celebrate our annual Jacaranda Day. The event is a highlight on the College calendar and one that truly embraces our five core values of care, courage, integrity, respect and responsibility.
This year’s service was organised by the Upper School students and our guest speaker was journalist, radio broadcaster and ex-student Sarah Macdonald who gave a wonderful insight in to her time at Pymble and how storytelling helped shape her career in the media.
Jacaranda Day has been a tradition at the College for the past 29 years and is an occasion for sharing and thanksgiving. Inspired by the beautiful Jacaranda tree planted in the Gloucester Quadrangle in 1947 to commemorate the visit of Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester, the service provides an opportunity for the College community to donate food and gift hampers to the Exodus Foundation.
