Jacaranda Day 2014
Thursday 13 November, 2014
Students and staff from across the College gathered on the Gloucester Lawn to celebrate Jacaranda Day, a tradition that has been practiced at Pymble for the past 30 years.
Jacaranda Day was first celebrated in 1984 and inspired by the Jacaranda tree planted on the Lawn in 1947 to commemorate the visit of Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester.
This year’s service was organised by the Senior School, with food consultant, author and ex-student, Brigid Treloar, as guest speaker.
The service also provides an opportunity for the College community to donate food and gift hampers to the Exodus Foundation, which supports hundreds of disadvantaged children, adults and families in Sydney.
