Foundation Day

Today Pymble celebrated our 98th Foundation Day – an annual celebration marking the founding of the College in 1916.

Pymble’s guest speaker this year was 2001 ex-student Fiona Roughley. In her speech, Fiona acknowledged the unique foundation for life that a Pymble education offers. “The foundation that an education gives you is the power to think about things so as to understand them. Not just to know what is, but to comprehend why”. Fiona urged students to “use the foundation that is an education gained here to ask ‘why’, and ‘why not’. May your answers lead you on journeys full of discovery. And may you build high on the foundation you will have received just from the privilege of being at Pymble.”
