Cultural network unites Pymble parents

Thursday 26 May, 2016

The first Cultural Community Network Lunch for the year was held this week, attended by 74  parents as well as our Principal, Mrs Vicki Waters and several Pymble staff.

Guests gathered in the Lobby Terrace at Eden Gardens, North Ryde, to enjoy an informal lunch and to connect with new and existing friends from a diverse range of a cultural backgrounds, including China, Korea, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, South Africa and New Zealand, but to name a few.

In her warm welcome to guests, Mrs Waters acknowledged that it’s not uncommon for some parents to experience the same feelings as their daughters about “fitting in and making friends at school”.

“That’s the joy of Pymble – everybody is welcome,” she said.

Pymble’s Cultural Community Network was established in 2014 to provide a support network for families from different cultures and nationalities, many of whom speak English as their second language and may not have close family living nearby.
