A Learning Day at The Royal Botanic Gardens
Monday 25 November, 2019
On Friday 15 November, Year 1 enjoyed the most beautiful day at The Royal Botanic Gardens. We arrived at the gorgeous grounds and spoiled ourselves, having a picnic with our friends amongst the native trees and flowers. Year 1 then separated into three groups led by the most knowledgeable experts at the Royal Botanic Gardens. We enjoyed walking through the many garden exhibits, observing carnivorous plants and learning about seeds and the different ways they travel to regenerate. Our favourite activity of the day was being able to plant our own carrots, which we got to take home. Year 1 girls were so grateful to learn about our need for plants to survive and are looking forward to one day creating their own magical gardens at home.
