Chaplaincy

Pymble’s two Chaplains provide spiritual leadership and support to the College community. This includes the oversight of the spiritual well-being of the girls, weekly worship services and pastoral ministry to students both past and present. The Chaplains are also involved in student fellowship groups which seek to provide further opportunity for the girls to discover and share their faith.

Throughout the year there are opportunities for the College to gather together to worship. As a community, Pymble celebrates faith in many ways. All students participate in the spiritual life of the College and we encourage parents and families to be involved in this important aspect of their daughter’s growth.

Chapel Services

Every Pymble student attends regular Chapel service to experience and engage in age-appropriate times of worship and reflection. Our Preparatory School has a relaxed Chapel service once a fortnight in the familiar space of their Performing Arts room. Junior School has weekly Chapel services in the Chapel itself and our Year 6 students participate in the leadership of these services. At the end of each term the Preparatory and Junior Schools join together for a special end of term Chapel service. Our Middle, Upper and Senior Schools celebrate Chapel each week. These are important times of sacred reflection, worship and spiritual growth. Students across the schools are involved in both service leadership and music.

Throughout the year students also participate in a number of special services, some of which are for individual schools or year groups, others involve the whole College community from Kindergarten to Year 12. Our two annual whole of College services are in celebration of Foundation Day (celebrating the school’s birthday) and Jacaranda Day (a day of thanksgiving in which we give to others). Other services mark special occasions, such as the end of Junior School, Prefects’ Induction and the Year 12 Final Chapel Service.

Lunch-time Groups

As well as the formal space of Chapel Services, Pymble students have the opportunity to engage in a variety of smaller groups to support their spiritual growth. Ignite, Junior Ignite and Prep Ignite are groups that meet across the College during lunch times. These are fun and relaxed spaces for the girls to own, explore, articulate and grow their faith. The Middle and Upper Schools also have small groups, called Synthesis, which provide further opportunity for the girls to share their spiritual journey with others of the same age and stage.

Pastoral Care

Our Chaplains provide pastoral care for all members of the Pymble community. Students, staff, families and ex-students are all welcome to seek support, spiritual guidance and pastoral care from our qualified and experienced Chaplains, both in their daily work and in times of need. They are a part of the broader team of Pymble staff who holistically care for Pymble’s students. Should you wish to contact the Chaplains for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact the College.

Weddings and Baptisms

Our Chaplains are also available for the community of Pymble Ladies’ College for special occasion services. These include Weddings and Baptisms.
