Learning to Swim is an important part of growing up in Australia. We are surrounded by water whether it be at the beach, backyard pool or local water ways. Learning to swim is a life skill and one we should all invest in.
We also know via research conducted by Griffith University that swimming lessons for your child is an investment in their overall health and wellbeing as well as shown to develop social, emotional, physical and intellectual capital more quickly than those that do not participate in swimming lessons.
With drowning being the leading cause of death for children aged under four years of age, teaching your child to swim from 6 months of age could literally save their life.
If you’re looking for world class swimming facilities, with industry qualified, caring and nurturing swimming staff for your child, Pymble Swimming has it all. Located on the beautiful grounds of Pymble Ladies’ College, the facility has been designed with a world class program pool and FINA level 50m competition pool for those progressing to Squad levels.
Learn to Swim – available for Pymble and general public
Our specially designed Learn to Swim program pool is heated all year round between 31-33 Celsius. We keep the air nice and warm to ensure children never get cold during lessons.
We have a state of the art, ultra fine filtration system which is tested four times daily to ensure the highest standards of water quality.
Our classes sizes are small, and teachers follow the Pymble Swimming teaching methodology. We have a constant assessment program ensuring children are promoted once they meet the objectives of the level. We recognise their achievements with merit certificates and regular feedback along the way.
We offer classes to Pymble students and the general public for:
- Babies from six months to three years
- Preschool Learn to Swim from three to five years
- School age Learn to Swim Classes
- Competitive and non-competitive (Pymble only) squad programs
Throughout your child’s swimming journey, they will progress from the ‘Learn to Swim’ pool to the 50m heated in-door swimming pool.
Squad Program – available for Pymble and general public
Our Squad program is split into two streams. Competition stream for those wishing to compete and a Recreational Stream offered to Pymble students and their siblings only.
Our Competitive Squad program aligns with the Knox Pymble Swimming Club (KPSC) which is the number 1 club in NSW. Those joining the competitive stream are expected to join the KPSC.
For Pymble students and their siblings you also have the choice of joining the Pymble Swim Stream, catering for those swimmers who are not seeking to compete but are looking for general fitness and fun.
