Divers conquer great heights at All Schools Championships

The diving season finished in great style for eight Pymble girls who competed at the NSW All Schools Secondary Diving Championships at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre in May, taking home a dozen medals. On the same day, the girls competed to qualify for the School Sport Australia (SSA) Diving Championships which will be held in Perth in early September.

Results included:

  • Paige Jackson (Year 11) – 1st 17+ Years Springboard and 1st 17+ Years Platform – qualified for SSA on both boards
  • Shakira Tyson (Year 11) – 2nd 16 Years Springboard – qualified for SSA
  • Kennedy Cooper (Year 9) – 2nd 15 Years Springboard and 1st 15/16 Years Platform – qualified for SSA on both boards
  • Emily Farrall (Year 9) – 4th 15/16 Years Platform
  • Mikaela Ward (Year 10) – 3rd 15 Years Springboard and 3rd 15/16 Years Platform – qualified for SSA on both boards
  • Samantha Scarr (Year 8) – 1st 14 Years Springboard – qualified for SSA
  • Emily Pearson (Year 7) – 3rd 13 Years Springboard and 2nd 13/14 Years Platform – qualified for SSA on both boards
  • Anya Rudenko (Year 7) – 2nd 13 Years Springboard and 3rd 13-14 Platform – qualified for SSA on both boards

Following the All Schools Championships, four of our Pymble Divers continued their run of success at the NSW Elite Junior Diving Championships, the final qualification event prior to the National Elite Junior Diving Championships to be held in Hobart in June.

Hours of training and competition paid off with the following results.

Kennedy Cooper (Year 9) – Elite Junior B

  • 1st – Platform
  • 2nd – 3 Metre

Samantha Scarr (Year 8) – NEPP Level 2

  • 1st – Level 2
  • 2nd – Junior 3 Metre Synchro with Anya Rudenko (Year 7)

Emily Pearson (Year 7) – Elite Junior C

  • 1st – Junior 3 Metre Synchro
  • 2nd – 1 Metre
  • 4th – 3 Metre
  • 5th – Platform

Anya Rudenko – Elite Junior C

  • 2nd – Junior 3 Metre Synchro with Samantha Scarr
  • 1st – 3 Metre
  • 4th – 1 Metre
  • 4th – Platform
